it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
it’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas.

everywhere we go.
the busyness
the hustle
the bustle
the shopping
the food
the family
the traditions

the tree is up
the decorations are up
the fire is lit
the stockings are hung

we are ready

it’s a time for
love
family
eating
visiting
playing
celebrating Jesus

May your Christmas be blessed.

always

more than enough

my life is full
i really do have enough
of everything.

i need nothing.
truly. i am content.

with that said,
we had a wonderful thanksgiving
with our family
where we ate more than enough! :)
l-r
husband & i.
brother & i
my mom & i
my niece & i
and
my grandson with hubbie & i :)
we celebrated with my side of the family
and our one daughter, son in law and grandson.
we  sure MISSED our daughter, son in law and grandson in vienna, austria
and our daughter in california.

in the evening my husband
and i went on what i call an
M&M adventure!

we left the house at 9:30 pm last night-
and drove in to town to
have coffee, people watch
and then do some late night
shopping!

this is the second year we have done this
and it has become a fun tradition.
we don't really have anything we
NEED. (we need nothing!)
but, it is more about the
adventure. about making memories.

we returned home this morning
at 7:30 am!!!
not bad for two grandparents!! ;)
ha.

we didn't come home empty handed.
we wound up getting a few small
stocking stuffers but, it was more
about the fun...spending time
with my best friend
making memories!

tell me. did you brave it last night?
did you go out this morning?

or do you stay home all cozy and
stay away from all the craziness? :)

handprints

little handprints
to remember how
little they were...

we are adding on to
our calf barn and have
been pouring new slabs
of cement-
we have marked
these occasions once again
just as we have always done
when we've poured cement in the past,

little handprints to remember!

down our long
lane in the middle of our field,
when my hubbie was still
quite small himself...
his own father
poured cement
and my hubs and
his best friend at the time
put their handprints in the cement...

it is fun
to walk down this path
and find his handprint
still cemented there...
that special day with his friend
forever remembered!

we have done this
numerous times
with our own daughters
when we have poured cement
in the past...
their little handprints
and then as they grew we
would add new handprints,
making new ones as
those hands turned into
bigger handprints...

always there for us
to remember.

and this past week
we have done it
again with our two little grandsons!

on the first day
big boy was here
and so;

the boy and gramps

gramps, the boy, daddy and granny's hands all in a row :)
watching the big cement truck
he called it a 'mighty machine'
he loves that series on netflix! :)

helping gramps-

watching the cement truck pour-

then yesterday we poured cement
again and lil' one was here so;

mommy and lil' one
a little handprint

and last but not least...
he walked around in his coonskin cap...
it was hilarious and i could not help
but get a picture!

what lovely reminders
days like these are
of just how good life
really is!

sweet little moments
that come and go
so quickly-
we turn around and they
are gone.

so today i am
savoring, treasuring,
making the most
of every single
minute and
feeling blessed
and happy.

i hope you too
have moments
like this that you
can cherish-
that you will know
without a doubt
how good life
really is,
and that you can
find blessings
in each and every day-
because my sweet friends,
they are there!

the blessings may be hiding
and even sometimes
may be hard to find
but, if you look...
they are there!

the sun is out
it is a lovely day
to be alive!

may you be blessed
today and always,
