i did it, i really did it!

today is the last day of
my 30 for 30 remix challenge
for any one new to my blog
it was a challenge i took
for 30 days to shop my 'closet'
i could not buy any new clothes
for 30 days
and picked out 30 items that
i had to wear for 30 days
accessories were not counted (thank goodness!)
here is what the LAST day of my challenge looks like!

grey leggings with boots, (not shown) jean skirt, grey striped tshirt and of course my trusty grey cardigan!

i have been trying unsuccesfully to download an album of my pictures .as a collage, oh..boo!

so at the end of this post are all 30 days...sorry it is so long!

i did actually enjoy this challenge

it opened my eyes to how often i think

i do not have anything to wear...;)

i have been asked to still post outfit pics

and so i might start a weekly picture post

what do you think about that?

i mean my blog is NOT by any means a

fashion blog but would you be interested in

a weekly outfit post? thoughts?

i am off to enjoy the rest of the day

a trip to the library is in store

with possible bookstore/coffee

and then trying to catch up with the

house/laundry around here

this sunday

waking abruptly
the alarm shrills
stumbling down the stairs
i make coffee
through barely opened
slitted-eyes
the smell of the
brewed magic
starts to waft over me
which in turn begins
to make me
feel almost 'human' again
i hear from the family room
a small voice
saying, "Gah-anny"
as i shuffle into the room
i am met with a little boy
his morning bed-hair all sticking up
and a huge smile on that little face
he again says, "Gah-anny, hi!"
my heart melts into a pile of goo
as i stare at this boy
with the crazy morning hair
standing in the middle of the room
holding his blankie and wearing his
dinosaur jammies and a huge smile...
the granny then says, " good morning, my love"
he says, "good morning, gah-anny!"
my morning just became that much sweeter
all because of that sweet face
and adorable little voice...
coffee is almost forgotten
and the day seems just a bit brighter!

yesterday
the park was wonderful
the sun stayed out the whole time
there was fun to be had with
running, laughing, swings, slides...and then
a looooong walk
we had a bubble wand
and so out in a field we stood
the wind picking up the
bubbles and blowing them high into the sky
'the boy' runs, chasing the elusive bubbles
and 'little one', watches 'the boy' and smiles
and then deep down in his throat
giggles burst up into the air
which makes his mommy and i smile
what a successful day in the park it was,
a very happy day indeed!

one more day
yep, one more day
and i have finished the
30 for 30 remix challenge.
it did go by pretty quickly
i learned that i actually have
lots of clothes that
i hardly ever wear
that shopping my closet
can be fun (so is the mall)
this is what my day 29 looks like;
it includes church, lunch and errands...

my prayer today on this sunday;

oh hello, it's saturday!

unbelievable that it is

saturday again...

this is when i know

i am getting old-

the days, weeks months & now years

seem to never slow down

like some tornado or whirlwind

that i somehow got

caught up in

with the daily comings and goings

sometimes i don't realize

a week has flown by,

crazy how that happens

so it is another saturday

it isn't raining (yet)

and so i promised

the 'boy' that

we would go to the park...

 my first born daughter

heard that i might be going

she said, call me up and maybe

the baby (my other grandson)

and i will meet you and we can go for a

walk too!

so this glorious day

filled with promise

smiles & fun

stretches

so 

wonderfully before me

blessed, yes...i am

thankful, yes...i am

i decided early this morning

that if a trip to the park

in our washington (fickle) weather

was on the agenda

that meant;

scarves, hats, gloves, and yes a coat...

yeah, like i said...it is washington!!!! ;)

even though  mr. sun is showing

his warm and lovely face today...

 here is what today looks like;

i am done...

can we say a shopping day

is in store???? :)

that's what i'm talkin' bout

the sun is
back...
i woke early
rolled over and opened
one eye
and peeked...
and yes, it was back
the sun was back!
right now
i sit here
coffee at my side
the sun shining gloriously
birds singing happily,
i feel like running out there
and joining them...
oh yes, i do love the sun!

this ol' granny
woke this morning with
a stiff neck and shoulders
i believe it was from
packing a nine month old grandbabe
around all day yesterday?! LOL
now tonight, two of my daughters, a son in law and a niece
are heading to portland, oregon
which is a 5 hour drive...
they are going to see Leeland in concert (oh, how i love leeland!)
so i will be having my 2 year old grandson
all weekend long...they are staying at their auntie's house-

i am hoping the sun stays out
so we can maybe do a trip to the park and a walk...
or a treasure hunt (thanks Rebecca for the idea)
whatever is in store it will be made extra special
because i will have a sweet little guy here
who calls me 'guh-anny'
and who makes my heart melt
even just to look at his little face
brings me such joy & happiness
he says the cutest things
it is a blast to watch these two cousins grow!
i am blessed to live near by
both daughters who have these little ones
so i can bond and truly get to know them
sure, sometimes at the end of the day
i can hardly keep my eyes open
because, i am exhausted
but, man oh man it is a blessing for sure!

i am truly blessed and yes,
you can bet that i am thankful
if any of you know have been around this
blog for any amount of time
you know i am a two time breast cancer survivor
when i was diagnosed i prayed for healing
and that i would be able to watch
my girls graduate from high school
get married and have little ones...
i am here to tell you God is good
my prayers were answered...
when my daughter handed over
my grandson to me in the hospital
i could not help but cry,
tears swelled up and fell
overflowing tears of joy
not only because this little precious face
that was before me,
but because i was filled to the point
of bursting
with praise and thankfulness
to God...for healing me
for listening to my pleas & cries for help
and for never leaving my side

i am one truly thankful wife/momma /granny!

i am so close to the end now of my remix challenge
the last day is the 18th so yes, i am almost near the
finish line-

just when i thought spring had arrived!

this is what we woke up to
april 14,2011
SNOW?!!!
the birds are still chirping
probably trying to figure out
what in the world is going on!




today is day 26 of my challenge
i am babysitting
and although i like to wear my
yoga pants and be comfy
when i babysit
i have begun to think...(scary, i know!)
that i do not want my grandsons to think
granny always wears sweats when we visit her
i want them to see that
i take the time to get ready for them!!
so after the challenge is over
i plan to at least get out of my sweats/yoga pants
most of the time, when they come to play--
this alone is an awesome lesson to learn from the
30 for 30 remix!!

red polka dot shirt is thrifted and i have worn twice on this challenge before today, the blue shirt underneath is from charlotte russe, worn once before and the jeans from kohls which have been worn numerous times!

after seeing all these pictures of myself i realized i am in desperate need of a haircut! ;)

many of you also asked about
my coffee date with the hubs
he worked and worked
when he came in he said there was no way
he could leave the farm
so later in the evening...
what does he do?
he surprised me by, taking me to dinner!
yay, for surprises and for time spent together.:)
