up & away~

If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why oh why can't I?
~E.Y. Harburg

this weekend is the local air show.
the planes are practicing overhead
right now.

i can hear the roar of their engines
as they swoop, dive and turn in the
air above me-

how do these men and women
not totally 'lose' it when they are
twisting and turning around in the
air like that?
when i ride a wild carnival ride
i have a hard time not 'losing' it! HA!

i can only imagine that feeling;
to be soaring,
the blue skies and snow white clouds
surrounding you-

a rush of adrenaline
as you flip, turn
swoop & dive

each one of the team
in complete harmony.
relying on each other.
trusting each other.
knowing each movement
before it happens,
being in sync with each member
of the team.

while us tiny spectators
wait and watch below
marveling and in complete
awe of them!

*we are going to try and
head down the road to where
we can get a bit closer
and watch them this weekend.

i will once again wonder
how these amazing pilots can perform
and just how crazy talented
they are!

happy weekend!

how fun. We got to watch the amazing Blue Angels fly while in Pensacola and it was heart stopping action!! Love the Abbottsford Airshow... we used to go to Sumas as kids and watch from a friends backyard.

What a beautiful sky! We have an air force base close by that hosts an annual air show. Ours is in June. We hear those same sounds and see some vintage planes overhead, too. Fun!
