2016 word

in the past i have chosen a word
to concentrate on for the year.

words such as:
smile
shine
hope
and last year's word which was
compassion...

i decided to really wait on God
what was the word He would whisper
in my ear?

i prayed about it.
that He would show me.

while doing my bible journaling
i decided instead of using my
many sets of devotionals
i would pray and then open the bible
to where He led me to.

i read the whole book from paul  to the
romans.

words kept popping off the page:
hope, faith, promises, glory, grace
believe and TRUST.

over and over
verses stood out about
believing and trusting.

believe. trust.

i journaled in three different bibles.
three completely different versions...
The Living Bible.
New International Bible
and The English Standard Version
all were consistent. all had the same result...
same words jumped off the pages at me.

hope, faith, promise, glory, grace
believe and trust.

today as i prayed for His words
to touch me.

TRUST was the underlying
meaning to all...
to trust and believe in Him and His promises.

my word for 2016
i believe is...TRUST.

a chance to be kind

words are also actions, and actions are a kind of words.
ralph waldo emerson

yesterday
i had a chance
to practice kindness

in the snack area at costco
as i wait for my husband
to come back to our table

an elderly lady
walks up and asks
if she could sit for awhile
and rest.

i smiled at her
and said of course!
i told her i was waiting
for my husband to return
and we would be leaving
and she could have the
whole table...

she was thankful for
a place to sit & rest
we visited for awhile
talking about how easy
it is to be nice, it really
doesn't take much effort
to hold a door for someone
or in her case she said
how nice it is for someone
to just smile. :)

we just talked for a bit...

when my husband returned
i told her i was going
and to have a good day
and she said, "thanks for
visiting with me today!"

as i walked away mark asked
me how i knew her?
and i told him, "oh she just needed
a place to sit and rest!" :)

kindness
a smile and or small simple
action can mean so much
to someone else!

2012 my year for kindness
is off to a great start!

i hope you have a wonderful week~

shine your light today!

twenty-twelve

the year twenty-twelve?
oh dear.

it seems a bit unreal to me.
like a sci-fi movie! ;)

where does the time disappear to?

i have decided instead of actually
making a new years resolution
i will have a
twenty-twelve 'word'-

there are a few that
spring to mind...

love
hope
happiness
gentleness
kindness
loyal
patient
listening
joy
thankful
inspire

i have been thinking
about this for a couple days

what would be the word
that would help me to
be a better person
this year?

what word would
challenge growth?

i think it is
a toss between
kindness & gentleness

in the end i think
one word stuck;

kindness

i want to make this my goal
to speak, act & think with

kindness

may the words of my mouth
and the meditations of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
o lord, my rock and my redeemer.
psalm 19:14

tell me do you have any
new years challenges
or resolutions?

oh, and i must say this:

happy birthday to my daughter tawni!!

what a lovely
woman you have become!
