show & tell thursday

today i thought
i would do a
show & tell post
on what i did
yesterday;

i was crafty! ( i know...who'da thunk!)

when my middle daughter
was in junior high
she bought a bulletin board
and she put pictures of classmates
and ribbons she won and you know
'stuff' on it...
when the next year rolled around
we bought a new bulletin board and
hung it next to the first one and
so it went all through high school
until she had accumulated two from jr. high
and four from h.s.
that is a LOT of bulletin boards!

when she went to college
i reclaimed her room
took down the boards and kept
just a few that were in decent condition...
and here is where i start my project-

the girl's room has been turned into
a playroom for the grands
with a bunk-bed,
a bookself overflowing with books,
and lots of toys...
recently i added a slide i found at
goodwill...i couldn't pass it up!
(right after bringing home & before moving to the playroom)

i then moved an antique school desk
in to the playroom
and hung two bulletin boards...
one for hanging drawings
made by the grands,
and the other i had something else in mind-

sorry for the horrid photo...couldn't get a decent one with the flash or without the flash :(

i still haven't decided about where to keep the chalk and eraser...
ideas anyone? thinking of a little box or tin-can hung next to the board?
this was a simple, easy re-do and i am happy with the final product,
i shall find out this weekend, what the little grands think! ;)

have a lovely thursday-
i am sending a cyber smile your way...
so today, how about you pass it on?
because you never know what
your smile may mean to the person,
it might be the only ray of sunshine
they see all day!

be blessed and shine,

dreary day turned crafty day

today i am babysitting
my 2 1/2 year old grandson
when he arrived at 7am
it was dark and dreary
we snuggled a bit,
had breakfast and then
granny decided it was
the perfect day for
some books...
we read & read
and then we decided
to be crafty-

we got out the glue
some ribbon and some
colorful paper
i wrote on the individual
papers the letters to spell
happy halloween & happy fall
we then glued the paper
to the ribbon and made
a banner saying "happy halloween"
and "happy fall"
i then let him pick which one he
wanted to take to his house
and of course he picked the halloween one! :)

then i finally finished zigzagging
the edges of a scarf i made for my
darling daughter
and am contemplating making
a few lace headbands...

i think the weather is
making it feel like
the perfect day
for crafting!

and i wanted to share
that lately i have received
some amazing emails
saying how much my
blog inspires & touches-
and i was and am, deeply moved
by the emails and to know how
my blog and words touch you!

so it got me to thinking
i would love to get to know you
my followers a bit better...
so would you do me a favor?

share something about yourself
in my comment section!
one or two or three things;
whatever you want...funny, personal...
your favorite color, tv show,
foods, quote, favorite season...
anything you want to share
so i can get to know you better! :)

and i hope you know
how much you all mean to me,
i appreciate you all!

have a lovely thursday
look for the glass half-full
and shine that light of yours!!
and may you always be blessed~

*crafty oh so crafty*

oh yeah
just call me a crafty granny (giggle, snicker)
i have been working on a couple things
this past weekend
now anyone who reads this blog
KNOWS i am not a craft blogger
but, these two projects were fun
so  i wanted to share-

when 'the boy' was here
this past weekend
i made him a little tag blanket
because just like his mommy did
 when she was his age...
he loves his 'silky' tags and his lovey puppy dog (pup)
i thought it would be fun to make him
a little tag blanket
he calls it his 'star' blanket because
the flannel material is full of stars...
small enough for him to take when he goes to granny and gramps' over night!!!

then i got a bee in my bonnet THIS morning and made little bow-ties for easter for the two little guys
i have no idea what they are wearing for church, and maybe these won't go/match at all
with what their mommies plan to have them wear
but i made these none the less...

i made them out of an old, ugly pair of my hubs jeans...lol

i had fun making them, so even if they do not wear them sunday
it was fun to make them :)

and then of course i have to share this picture
i took it yesterday while 'little one' was here
the sun actually came out for a bit
and we went outside
saw the horse and the all the cows
and enjoyed some of the sunshine!!

today is good friday
we will be going to church tonight
to remember the sacrifice that was made for us on the cross
and then on sunday we will
celebrate HIS victory!

may you have a lovely day today and most blessed easter weekend-

homemade christmas stocking

I made this last night for my littlest grandson
his mommy and daddy are really into the
camo stuff, so I made him this.

I just traced around an old stocking that
I had around the house
it is lined with brown flannel and
the then the cuff is in that flannel too

photo taken with my phone...sorry:)

I cannot wait to give it to my
daughter today,
she is going to be so pumped about it!!

blessings to all,
melody
