cancer = ugly

although i make an effort to
have this blog be a place
of encouragement and joy
it is not without sorrow.

i will not pretend that
hardships do not come to
each and everyone of us.

even in the darkest times
i try to remember that
each and every day is a gift...
to rejoice and to be thankful
for everything!

but, to be honest
today is a sad day.
cancer has again claimed
a friend.
i will be heading to her
funeral today-

she was my PE teacher
when i was in high school
and then went on to
teach & coach
my three daughters.

she also was a:
wife, mom and friend to many.

cancer you are ugly
you do not discriminate...
you take old, young
rich and poor.

the time is here
to finally find a cure
cancer needs to be beat
once and for all.

trudy,
i am thankful we had those
talks about our cancer journeys
and our faith...

you will be missed
may you rest now dear friend,
until i see you again.

Cancer is the great equalizer, it doesn't discriminate. We are watching a good friend (only 15 years old) battle what could be cancer, but we do not know yet. In spite of it all, our faith hold us up and holds us all together, united by a greater belief that God is greater and bigger than any diagnoses. I will be praying for you and the family through this difficult time.

you are in my thoughts and prayers - as is your friends family.
