show & tell thursday

today i thought
i would do a
show & tell post
on what i did
yesterday;

i was crafty! ( i know...who'da thunk!)

when my middle daughter
was in junior high
she bought a bulletin board
and she put pictures of classmates
and ribbons she won and you know
'stuff' on it...
when the next year rolled around
we bought a new bulletin board and
hung it next to the first one and
so it went all through high school
until she had accumulated two from jr. high
and four from h.s.
that is a LOT of bulletin boards!

when she went to college
i reclaimed her room
took down the boards and kept
just a few that were in decent condition...
and here is where i start my project-

the girl's room has been turned into
a playroom for the grands
with a bunk-bed,
a bookself overflowing with books,
and lots of toys...
recently i added a slide i found at
goodwill...i couldn't pass it up!
(right after bringing home & before moving to the playroom)

i then moved an antique school desk
in to the playroom
and hung two bulletin boards...
one for hanging drawings
made by the grands,
and the other i had something else in mind-

sorry for the horrid photo...couldn't get a decent one with the flash or without the flash :(

i still haven't decided about where to keep the chalk and eraser...
ideas anyone? thinking of a little box or tin-can hung next to the board?
this was a simple, easy re-do and i am happy with the final product,
i shall find out this weekend, what the little grands think! ;)

have a lovely thursday-
i am sending a cyber smile your way...
so today, how about you pass it on?
because you never know what
your smile may mean to the person,
it might be the only ray of sunshine
they see all day!

be blessed and shine,

hi melody-mae! I so agree with you about the smiles. What a lovely playroom that your grandsons have. Bet they love that little slide, and what a good idea with the chalk board. Our house is absolutely full of toys, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Stay shiny my friend.

Love the chalkboard idea. I think a little hanging tin can for the chalk and eraser. :)

How fun to have an indoor slide for the winter months.

Only 4 more months until I become a grandma. (Sad this week, as well, as this was the week that our baby was due. Weird to think that we could have had a baby just 4 months older than the first grand. Would have been fun.)

Of to CA for a couple days of sunshine. Woo Hoo!

Chalkboard paint! I think that is one of the best inventions ever!
