it's the little things

yes, sometimes it is a little thing
that make my heart sing-

an email or text
a smile or gesture
a look between my hubbie and i

the promise of a new day
a long weekend

coffee dates
dinner dates

salty popcorn
sweet, dark chocolate

long walks
sunshine
a stack of books
parks
music

these are
a few things
that make my heart sing...
and of course

little ones who fall asleep
looking all sweet and angelic
lil' bum up in the air...oh my

how could a granny
not just love this?!

this little guy's very first birthday
is coming up and we
will be celebrating at
the park this sunday

last year we were called
on the 4th to hear that
my daughter was on the way
to the hospital, in labor
we picked up her sisters along
the way and headed into town

the thirty minute drive was
amazing, it was dark out
and fireworks lit up the dark sky
as families celebrated the fourth

it was an amazing sight to see
one i will never forget

unbelievable
how time just flew
i am one very thankful granny-

life is lovely

have a wonderful
shiny, and sparkly weekend!

My little girl turned one on June 29th and she sleeps like this too -it's so cute and makes me smile every time I see it.

It seems like it would be uncomfortable, but the babies seem happy :)
