oh, how i love...

                                                                            source

be still my heart
oh yes, just to look
at a stack of books
can make this girl
sigh, yes a sigh
from deep within just
comes spilling out...

such joy-
when did this love affair begin?
i cannot remember a time
that i did not love books!
it started when i was a
little girl and yes it is a
love that has continued

i raised three daughters
who i am proud to say
are book lovers
like their momma :)
they could all read before
entering school and yes,
my love for reading and books
was passed on to them. :)

when i was sick with cancer
i escaped into the pages of books,
where the characters were
not sick but,
healthy...happy and at the time
while i had no hair (from chemo)
the characters would have
gorgeous hair and i could
lose myself in those pages
and forget, for a while...

one of my favorite movies
is disney's, beauty & the beast
and the scene that stole my heart?
when the beast presents beauty
with that library...
a room with wall to wall books
oh. be. still. my. heart!

do you have a favorite book
or scene from a movie that
just makes you sigh and feel good?

may you have a lovely day
i hope you find something today
that makes you happy & makes you smile
and then i challenge you to go
spread that smile to someone else!
and let it be known that today...
on this thursday, oh i am thankful!

always,
melody-mae

Books. shoes. One can never have too many. ;) I was so excited when I was able to convert a dusty work desk space off our bedroom into my little sitting room/library. I love my library nook!!

I too love to read. I love the picture above of the lovely library of books.
My favorite book is the one Im reading at the time.
But my favorite movie is Gone With The Wind.
I love the book too. Much better than the movie.
I havent read it in awhile. I think I have read at least four times, maybe more.

I, too, LOVE books. My office/library has ten 6' bookshelves. Yes. It. Does. And ... they are all full and over-flowing.

That does not include the bookshelves in each of the children's rooms ... nor the bookshelves of the currently being used homeschool books. We use a literature-based homeschool curriculum, and my kids are falling in love with books, as well. Makes this mama happy.

LOVE the picture, above. Since my husband is applying for jobs around the state, I am always dreaming about our "next house" ... the next place we will call home. (We've lived in 14 homes in 28 years of marriage ... and we've been in this one for 9 years ... so we lived in 13 homes the first 19 years of marriage. Oh my!) I think I'll tuck that "library" idea away for my next house.

Off to look at real estate websites for more dreaming ...

Be still my heart...this post is one of my favorites ever. Books are my passion. I, too, love pictures of book cases, stacks of books, libraries. I dream of having a library "room" in my house someday. Most of my books are stacked in the basement right now, and I could easily fill up a room with them. I also LOVE that scene from Beauty and the Beast.

Great post, fellow book-lover :)

I love this post and that gorgeous picture. I haven't read a good book for a long time. I probably spend too much time blogging and reading magazines. I think I'd better do something about that ASAP! If you can think of anything that is light-hearted and easy to get into I would love to hear from you!

Best wishes always,
Natasha.

I'm glad to see you healthy now. I guess I can say that the books helped you a little.
I've been reading a lot for the past year... love it.

I LOVE books too. I can read a book in one night because I love the stories and escaping. I can remember a tree in my yard that I would climb and take my book and stay all afternoon and finish it in the tree.
When I go on vacation I lay on the beach and read. I loved this post so much- I enjoy coming to visit!!!
Be blessed!
