a treasure hunt

last night as i was
getting ready for bed
the rain and wind picked up
the wind blew, shaking the bedroom window
the rain just poured-

i am so ready for sunshine
truly, i cannot even begin to
tell you how much i
long for warm weather
to be in the garden
 in my flip flops
to sit on my garden swing with a book
oh yes, i am yearning-
maybe it means we are in for
a long hot summer?
i can dream can't i?
oh sunshine, oh spring
you are missed, where are you?

tuesday i had
my two year old grandson here
and it was sprinkling but not
too terribly-
enough that we were able
to go outside for a bit and
walk around the farm and burn
some of his two year old energy off ;)
i got this idea from rebecca
who posted about how she went on
a treasure hunt with her kiddos
and so i told her i loved this idea...
i gave 'the boy' a bucket and told him
we were going outside to find treasures!
he loved it, oh my goodness
dandelions, rocks, feathers, sticks,
then more dandelions...rocks, sticks
he could have been out there for hours
he had such  a great time...
thanks rebecca, this granny plans to
do this again and again!

may you have a beautiful day!
i hope that whatever you do
you find joy in it today!

Such a great idea! I shall certainly try that with MY 2 year old grandson when he next visits. I'm always looking for ways of keeping him amused!

Oh you are so welcome!! I'm glad he loved it!! Sometimes we do it inside to change it up--we look for ten red things or ten round things. There are so many alternatives! :) I'm glad I gave you a fun outside activity--the weather is coming!!

Children really do help you to see the beauty that's all around us, don't they?

p.s. I am longing for spring to stick, too! Only little teases so far...

Right there with you ... hoping, dreaming, praying for some SUNSHINE.

Just this morning I was daydreaming of going to baseball games in my capris and flip-flops. But, tonight I will be bundled up in my winter's finest to cheer my kids on. I am TIRED of the winter coat ... the gloves ... the COLD weather.

Please Lord ... those of us in the Pacific NW are READY for some sun. :)

Oh yes ... can't forget the coffee. I am sooo... ready for an ICED Mocha, rather than the hot ones.

Off to the ball fields at 4:00. Every time I'm there now ... I look for you, wondering if you are out for a walk.

:) :) :)

Hey ... if you're ever walking at the ball fields, look for the BIG (15 passenger) red van with the "Big D. Family" across the back window (with the cute little pics of all 12 of us).

I'll be there.

Melody, thanks for this tip. I am going to use it when I babysit the twin grandsons again. Isn't it amazing what a sun-shiny day does for one's spirit?
