my day one

 day one;

today on my first day of the challenge
we went to church and then a surprise going away party
for my 21 yr old niece who is moving to AZ :(

i chose:
purple v-neck long sleeve top (thrifted)
scarf (old, from the Gap)
white tank ( men's package of tanks, I wear pretty much everyday)
denim skirt (VERY old, from walmart)
navy blue textured fishnet tights (sears)
black oxfords; not showing in my picture ( zappos)

God had a message for me today;
you know how he sometimes has to
knock us upside the head?
i felt like i had been smacked with the naughty stick today...
maybe he was trying to tell me
not to get so worried about
what i was wearing???

one verse kept being repeated...

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel,
"Don't judge by his appearance or height,
for I have rejected him.
The Lord doesn't see things the way
you see them.
People judge by outward appearance,
but the Lord looks at the heart."

okay, i hear you Lord
i will try very hard
not to judge
by outward appearances
or be envious of others
and their super cute clothes!

even so, this  30 for 30
is a whole lot of fun
so i will
see you tomorrow!

Oh, and I'll probably be referring to your 30 for 30 challenge in an upcoming post later this week :)

Love it! What a fun journey. Looking forward to tomorrow. Isn't it just great the way He so gently instructs us not to take ourselves so seriously? Bit by bit we learn, bit by bit we practice. Have a wonderful day! ~Blessings, Janet

I'm working my way backwards down my blog list; life has kept me too busy to read everything by everyone. YaY for your 30/30! Wow, what a good verse to start your challenge out with. God has such a sense of humor.
