weekend recap

our weekend flew by
a whirlwind of festivities

saturday we snuck away
to enjoy some coffee with our dear friends
at Barnes and Noble...a great way to
relax and catch up
that evening we were at
hubbies cousin's place where we
met up with cousins, aunts, uncles
ate great food and visited...
i came home and cleaned a bit...
and added finishing touches on my decorating

sunday came and it was time to be at church
nice and early, for choir practice
it was our Christmas program so we sang
a couple songs, the children were darling and
to finish off the amazing program...
my daughter and my son-in-law performed a song
(SIL played guitar) and the daughter sang...

she sang a song that moved me to tears,
the lyrics were stunning and put so much into
perspective for me,
not only were the lyrics beautiful and meaningful
but her sweet, soulful voice just hits you where it counts
straight to the heart!

the lyrics:
Christmas song by Francesca Battistelli

Hold on now, I gotta take a deep breath
I don’t know what to say when I look in your eyes
You made the world before I was born
Here I am holding You in my arms tonight

Noel, Noel
Jesus our Emmanuel

You’re here
I’m holding You so near
I’m staring into the face of my Savior

King and Creator
You could’ve left us on our own
But You’re here

Don’t know how long I’m gonna have You for
But I’ll be watching when You change the world
Look at Your hands, they’re still so small
Someday You’re gonna stretch them out and save us all
Noel, Noel,
God with us Emmanuel

You’re here, I’m holding You so near oooh oh
I’m staring into the face of my Savior
King and Creator
You could’ve left us on our own

but you’re here, you’re here

Someday I’m gonna look back on this
The night that God became a baby boy
Someday You’re gonna go home again,
But You leave your spirit and flood the world with joy

You’ll be here, I’m holding You so near
I’m staring into the face of my Savior, King and Creator
You could’ve left me on my own, but you’re here… You’re here

Hallelujah, You’re here
Hallelujah, You’re here

so after the wonderful service
i came home to host 23 people at our home
we had an amazing dinner and gift exchange

the house was warm & cozy
candles, greenery and wonderful smells
filled the air and we visited, laughed, ate great food
and exchanged gifts...
i am blessed to have so many
who love me and that we
 can get together like this-

so the weekend flew by

there will be more parties to come this week
family coming in from out of town...
i pray i will be able to take a few deep breaths
and just enjoy it all!

and you? i hope you had a wonderful weekend.
did you find time to take a breath and relax in the glow
of CHRISTmas?

blessings this season,
melody
