think pink!

for some this month
the month of October
is 'pink month'-
awareness time
a time to bring
people together
raising money for
research, & a cure

how many years
have past since that
first diagnosis?

the awareness
the cause
would not have
made an impact before

all that changed
in the spring so many years ago
those words, " you have cancer"
"there is node involvement"
words like:
surgery, mastectomy, chemotherapy
hairloss, tumor activity, radiation
life expectancy, hormone therapy...
these words and more
enter my vocabulary
to linger, take root

seven years and all is well
checkups are clean and clear
all has been done 'by the book'
and then another lump is found-
another? are you kidding me?
the ride begins again
shocked, rocked to the core...to my knees
doing this all again?
unbelievable...
cannot believe the journey starts again
surgery & chemotherapy-
but, I am a warrior
I am a survivor...

 I beat you cancer, TWICE!

on my knees
God you held me in your hands
I cannot do this without you
I am lifted up, surrounded by
your love, your strength

oh yes,
I am thankful
my God is faithful
I drew close and He was there
always there
I am healed once again
oh I am thankful

no longer complacent
happy to be alive
blessed beyond measure
life is good

this month
yes, this month
I will 'think pink'
but, this month I also
choose to remember-
others who have fought the fight
some have won, others have not
I will remember
my journey
my blessings
my family
I am alive
I am cancer free

oh yes
all is good
all is great
all is GRAND!

Oh Melody, How terrible to have to go through this AGAIN. What a bummer. I am praying for you that all goes well.

I am a new follower from Friday Follow Over 40. Would appreciate it if you could stop by and follow back.

I am giving a Mrs Santa Claus apron away to one of my followers on December 5.

The things I love about this post
1.You are a survivor-a warrior-Amen! The things we survive, be it cancer or domestic violence just make us stronger and appreciate all we live to experience!
2. I love that you know who held you in His hands and is so faithful. I love you know who brought you through!
3, I love that you are here-able to blog, write sweet poetry of remembrance and that I found your sweet blog!
Be blessed!
Lorie
