today a bowl of
gorgeous orange satsumas
made me thankful,
made me smile
as they sat there
in the middle of
my kitchen table,
all bright and cheery-
i am thankful
for all the delicious food
this time of year brings-
when the family draws
near together in a warm
home and we visit, laugh and
we EAT.
i am thankful i will
not be hungry this year...
our church is doing a
program called;
'the power of 40'
we volunteer to buy
groceries for families in need
and then we meet at the church
put 40 baskets together and deliver them
to these homes...
i am thankful that on sunday
when the pastor said he needed 40 people to
stand and offer to buy groceries for the meal,
that we had 15, yes FIFTEEN more that stood
to volunteer!
we also had someone donate all 55 turkeys!
we are now 'the power of 55'! :)
i love this time of year-
and am thankful for
it all!
and you?
can you find happiness
in even little things like
a bowl of oranges?
i hope so.
blessings,

I'm able to find happiness in dead leaves that have fallen from the trees!
Those cheery oranges would bright up any kitchen. :)
I love reading your thankful posts!
I found happiness in my hot Mocha this morning; and we all shouted with JOY when the white fluffy stuff started falling from the sky.
:) :) :)
Totally Random ...
My teens went to a Christian concert in the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night. One of the bands introduced ... "A woman named Melody from WA State who has survived breast cancer 3 times." They thought for sure it was you ... but it wasn't.
Just so you know ... there is another Miracle Melody in Western WA.
:) :) :)
Love the oranges! Sunshine always brightens my day. My kids and I like to sit by a sunny window and read books. :)
I hope you know that no one can grin as much as I do on reading you. Fifteen more is AWESOME- just had to scream it out! :)
I am thankful for pre-packaged food that God made for us to enjoy! :) So very thankful for that!!
Melody Mae, I always love your positive and inspirational posts! And I always find myself smiling when reading your blog. Thank you!
Love that you find thankfulness in the simple things!!
I'm thankful for all that this season brings too. And good for ya'll doing the Power of 40 thing! The season is so much better when you can give back to those that might not be as fortunate.
