every year,
if you are quiet
and listen-
you can hear the
bees humming,
birds chirping,
soft fluttering wings of
the humming birds,
our cows mooing...
and lately high in our evergreens..
you can hear the coo of doves
the coo is a bit heart wrenching,
a little sad and haunting to me-
they usually begin the cooing
early in the morning and then again
early in the evening-
are they calling their mate?
letting them know they are there?
are they waiting...
i do know,
if you sit and listen
you hear their soft cry,
the coos of the dove
i hope they find what
they are looking for...
have you?
are you still searching?
happiness & contentment-
with age i have become
ever so content,
with my life
and everything around me
little things make me smile
the joy of each and every moment...
really isn't that
all we need?
i pray you have a
great day, that you find
joy and are blessed this day

I think my youngest brother has finally found the happiness he was looking for- he's about to marry his high school sweetheart and she truly is a sweetheart! And that makes me happy.
What beautiful thoughtful thoughts. And so well stated of course. It is funny how as we get older, we embrace a bit of calm into our lives.~Hugs, Mitzi
