today-the 18th

this morning
as the smell
and warmth
from my coffee
soothes me
and I slowly awake
and am recharged
for the day
I sit here
in the quietness of our home
as the world wakes up
cars rushing off to work
tractors starting up to
feed our cows
I am reminded that today
is another day
it is a BRAND new day
a day for another chance
it is a present that has not
been opened yet
and we have the option
to make it a good one
we can look at it as a
challenge
as a 2nd chance
a gift to receive and
maybe just maybe
give something back?

I am
excited today
I would like to think of
today as that chance
to be a better wife, mother, granny, daughter, sister, in-law, auntie and friend
may I say encouraging words today
may I be that person
I long to be
may I just be
thankful
